LIKE IS THIS A THING? I hope it's people being sarcastic BUT????? I saw people complain about the new lion Pokemon : Pyroar Claiming the difference between the male and female forms is gender binary bullshit.
Have you ever seen lions? Like sexual dimorphism is A FACT OF NATURE GUys???
Pokemon has done tons of gender differences between Pokemon before, don't be silly. Besides, the female form looks x10000000 more badass, just sayin. goodnight
Well that's not 100% true my Pokemon adventure has gone as follows:
Yellow -> Red -> Gold -> Silver -> Crystal -> Black 2
The reason I don't like them is because games have gotten stupidly easy, after about ~2003 it's kind of annoying really, they're no real challenge in them and that was something important to me when playing a game. Now games seem to hold your hand through the WHOLE game, for example in something like black 2, I'm half way through the game, and it's like and all the dialog consist of is stuff like "Oh did you know that water Pokemon are weak against electric Pokemon" and just so much fluff its like wow... this makes me realize I'm playing a game that has an intended audience of like 7yr olds. Also after what 600 Pokemon, there imagination and creativity is really starting to show... ... ... Thats why I don't play any of the newer games in franchises I grew up with, because they're not the same, they're watered down insults, there are of course exceptions to that, I did enjoy Castlevania Lord of Shadows, but the games in the Castlevania franchise were always pretty hard lol I think I've only beat two of them to date ...
So I honestly don't think I'm gonna be missing out that much with X and Y...
Well I finally did break down and got it (Pokemon X), because I did like some of the new features, such as the 3D everything, the storyline was same old same old though, kid becomes champ, team trying to ruin everyone life or steal everyone Pokemon, kid beats team, end of story... didn't really use super training because I was never a hardcore state builder, I catch the Pokemon I like, and they're my team, liked the Nintendo dogs feature that was cool and I'm actually pretty good at the yarn ball game. So I must say it was a lot better then Black II, but still falls in line with my ... this game was pretty easy opinions... though I did notice a lot less hand holding and a lot more focus around storyline. Can't really tell if what I typed made sense though as I have a huge headache from sleep deprivation and having to write about 50-60 programs over the past week in my programming class ... so oh well >w>
I actually don't talk to every person in every house, so I didn't know that. XD When I do come across them, I actually just dismiss them as those "friendly tip pop up boxes" that almost 30% of every game I've played has, lol.
Pretty much, I don't check /every house/ but I do go in a lot of them and talk to a lot of NPC's as they often give you free stuff or wanna battle etc. It's just I feel like I'm playing one giant tutorial with most modern games... ... ... *goes back to playing Dwarf Fortress* (which is absurdly hard game with no learning curve what so ever still kinda fun though )
I kinda let those things slide for the awesomeness behind that tutorial. o3o
To be honest, for some games, I play the game with no tutorial from anywhere(not even the beginning) and end up ragequitting. |D I'm not talking about things like which button to talk or attack or anything either, but, like, I have to figure out for myself where to forge weapons and how to organize a party and where to summon them and stuff
too LITTLE info is bad too
How the hell am I supposed to know I can summon friends after the third chapter if you don't tell me or something alskjdlkasd
Not saying it's a bad thing per say (I'm saying it's horrible >), it just kills the thrill of discovery for me ... I'm a very independent and competitive type of person so I tend to discover things in games even if I'm not told just by doing random other things that make me happen upon something new...
what HOW!! sometimes I wonder whats wrong with people, so what if they made the appearance different if they don't like it then they shouldn't play it simple as that! People take lots of time to make this the way it is they should be grateful that this part of our childhood is still alive todayy!
*BjornTheBear is right...just a difference of mane/hair styles! LIKE IN REAL LIFE! I mean, it it wrong to be slightly realistic in terms of hair and mane style????? I mean look at Pikachu! The female's tails have a little notch thing in the tip, but did anyone sensible complain? NO! UGH people can be so retarded these days...
Maybe it would have have been sexist if there were any other difference between them besides aesthetic (literally all the moves/stats are the same...). I think there was something in the description of the pokemon about the guy lion being the leader the the girl lions watching the kids, which is similar to actual lions... But they are the same strength and have the same moves so I don't fpsee the problem.
I think pokemon has come a really long way, though. Before all the characters were of one race (Japanese) but they've really expanded it a lot, as well as to allow the player to be female etc.
I just ignore people complaining about pokemon, there is so much work and countless hours put into designing and creating those games I am so thankful that they didn't just stop doing it with the first generation.
Yeah honestly I don't see anything wrong with that description...I mean, it's a fact of nature, plus the lionesses are the ones who get shit done. Maybe the 'kids' part rubs some people the wrong way, but c'mon. It's a frickin anime lion monster lol.
And you said it! Pokemon is getting so much better with each new generation. The customization is a great addition, variant skin tones and hair etc <3
That's sad to hear that people think that.. But whatever, let them complain I suppose. Doesn't change the fact that Gen 6 is going to be epic. There are too many awesome poke'mon to choose just 6 from.. ;n;
Wasn't this going on over on tumblr earlier or something? I dont really know the details but it started (on tumblr atleast) by an unrelated sexist joke, I think? and here I am just trying to figure out where the poor male Pyroar's ears are lmao xD
No, but I thought it was racist when the only black guys I ever saw in the pokemon universe were the two basketball players in Black/White 2 lol. *I found another random trainer later though it wasn't as bad as I originally thought lol*
But yeah idk why people are bitching about it like its the first time they've ever made differences between genders.
Yeah I hadn't really played much of Black/White when I saw those 2 and I hadn't seen Iris yet I don't think. I mean I didn't seriously think they were being racist it was just funny the first 2 black guys I had ever noticed were bball players lol.
I didn't even know there was gonna be that much customization, thats awesome. OO
I think people are just finding a reason to hate on the new gen honestly, or attention seeking either way. =/
Psh, back in the day of the old gold and silver versions they had male and female pokemon, and yet, no one complained about there looks being the same at all! (only exception being nidorans) Then in the newer games were the developers able to show minimal differences, and no one complained, BUT NOW there complaining about a haircut difference??!!
And your right, lions and pretty much all real life animals have some drastic differences and even look the same! Yet again, NO ONE COMPLAINS BOUT REAL LIFEZ! (pretty soon people are gonna go and say that humans are wrong for having tits and dicks even though we look similar anyways! Why world why??)
I kinda got this feeling that these lion pokemon might be related to entei somehow, of course not evolution wise! But just fer fun they could gather where the volcanos from when an entei was born. :3
