I've recently decided that goats are one of the coolest animals 8)
The concept behind this is not some random goregoat. He's actually a messenger from the underworld, which was inspired by the association of goats with demons. However, as he travels from the underworld to earth, he must adopt a 'worldly body', something that can sustain him in a world in which he doesn't usually inhabit. (He is based of a Valais Blackneck. However I haven't decided on a definite colour scheme ;x; )
As he travels between the two worlds, his body is ripped apart and reassembled in a heartbeat. I kind of wanted to capture him mid-transformation. So parts of his flesh are winding and shooting back into his body. Tried to make it look almost like flowing fur.
The stringy green background was meant to portray the space he travels through, almost like falling through vines/links that hold the two worlds together.
Dont have a name for his yet ;; Been calling him 'MoonEye' because of his glowey yellow eyes. Haha so dumb.
I will admit that is is not your most original of creatures - for the most part, it's just a goat, whereas you usually have much more unique dragon-like monsters in your gallery. But the story behind it, the concept of the vine tunnel between worlds, and the idea of showing the demon mid-transformation more than makes up for that. I admire that you took the time to actually come up with a mythology based around this character, instead of just painting a bloody goat like many others would. As usual, your technique is absolutely flawless, and the picture is dark and haunting. For some reason my eye keeps going to that gap in between his neck and his body - it's extremely creepy but awesome at the same time. Amazing work as usual. Oh, and also, MoonEye is not a dumb name. It is an epic one.
The concept behind this is absolutely amazing. I love how you draw goats - you got the eyes so haunting and creepy, yet somehow beautiful too. I love the gore-y parts of this, and the detail in the fur.
Thanks very much! c: I've never attempted one before, so I'm glad you like it! The detail in the fur was so fun to do *u* And of course, goat eyes are so cool! Haha, anyways thanks again!
C: Aw, you're very welcome! And wow - are you serious? Juding on how well this turned out, I thought you'd be used to drawing goats. <3 You're very welcome!
Glad to see you finally posted the Gore Goat, Jordan. I was kinda curious as to exactly what brought its creation about, and the idea is pretty interesting in itself.
Haha nothing really. I wanted to broaden the range of species I can draw, and well...goats are badass! Look at those horns, I didn't even exaggerated them. That's what they look like on Blacknecks ;w;
GOATS BE DEM SATANICS. MMMMMHMM. Lolknotreally. But I think I told you about my experience with a goat. XD But they do tend to have very interesting horns, yus.
Oh, and also, MoonEye is not a dumb name. It is an epic one.
